The Zetnet Rainbow GIF

Why not visit a really Hop orientated site Glenn Tinsenth's Hop Page or Perrys pages There's all sorts of hints including how to grow them & much much more....

Intersted in Growing hops then try Greg Hawley Page or The Brew your Own Archive This link takes you to an Article all-about Hop growing from this page other back articles by BYO are also easily accessible.

Do you want to learn about Home brewing then why not subscribe to recs.crafts.brewing the newsgoup that eats sleeps & drinks brewing beer. Note the newsgroup is quite often posted with viruses so make sure your virus software is always uptodate. Or why not undertake some education go on a Brewlab course email Brewlab or visit their website. There one day seminars are great. I have been to them ALL. From the Introduction to Brewing Followed by Advanced Homebrew Technology and even Taste Training. All assist the wannabe brewer with the necessary skills to brew the best they can & understand more fully the science involved and believe me there's plenty.

Yeasts In the past I used Gervine REAL ALE yeast it provided good finished beer. It settles out well & is simply the best dry yeast I have used(£0.75). For those who prefer liquid yeasts the try a Brewlab slant culture these are good also (£3.50). Alternatively visit WYEAST LABS. Wyeasts yeast cultures do make better beer than the Gervine no doubt about it but you should expect this @ 5 times the price (£4.00). I have been using Wyeast for all my brewing for the past year by culturing the yeast 2 or 3 times it does not cost much more than using dry yeast. Definately no more yeastey homebrew taste. I have also now tried Whitelabs yeast; the idea of just chucking in a large test tube of yeaties is good have now begun a comparison with Wyeast to see which i prefer.

For the best selection of homebrew recipes on the web.

For those of you who make it this far down mrhoppys' home page was originally created on a text editor with all the tags added by hand. So thats why it looks the way it does ... it was originally created before most people had access to the internet ... yes before windows being the dominant OS ... and what fun a DOS login was. So I keep the page the way it was in memory of those times. well why mrhoppy you ask ... well it was simply my chat room name.
