THE EARLY TAPES (JULY/AUG 1980) POLYDOR 831 081-2
1982 This is to me the band at their non-commercial best. The album is mainly instrumental.
LEVEL 42POLYDOR 821 935-2
1981Lots of great instrumental tracks. Including my all
Time favorite Love Games.
The Pursuit Of Accidents POLYDOR 810 015-2 1982
Well I still like this CD a lot.
It has The Chineese way and You Can't Blame Louis ... I feel this show Mike Lindup to his best but with a good slapping of Mark for good measure.
STANDING IN THE LIGHT POLYDOR 813
865-2 1982 Includes the Awesome Micro-kid & The
Sun goes down Truly an album so funky it should have been banned. Many of
these tracks were released as promo's on twelve inch. Profound lyrics
TRUE COLORS POLYDOR 823 542-2 1984
The only thing you really need to say about this album is
that it includes their first single that got them noticed HOT WATER foreplay
on a bass n synth which is fully downloadable.
A PHYSICAL PRESENCE POLYDOR 825 677-7
1985 Still the original line up & things were going well
for the band by now they had a loyal following (Own up the fan who started
the whistle EY-O thing dare ya!) All the songs any fan could want. It capture's
the feel and sound of LEVEL 42 but I would have a liked even more depth to
the bass presence in the mix but Greg Jackman did a great job. Featuring
on track 10 Mark King s' own slap n pluck fest into LOVEGAMES.
WORLD MACHINE POLYDOR 827487-2
1985 Well this was the album IMHO that made them truly famous
and international. My favorite from this album Lying Still. By this time
they had released 14 singles, 6 Albums which had sold over 1 500 000 copies
worldwide.
RUNNING IN THE FAMILY POLYDOR 831
593-2 1987
LIVE AT WEMBLEY WORLD FAMOUS RECORDS
WFRCD5 1989 A new format still with Mark King, Mike
Lindup but with Alan Murphy on Guitar & Gary Husband on drums. In points
a little too much howlin' guitar and not quite enough rhythm guitar for me
Boon could howl his guitar but his rhythmic work was now sadly missed.
THE REMIXES POLYDOR 5130 085-2
1992 The album that keeps me company in the car All the tracks
have been made somewhat more suitable for the dance floor. The last track
the hit combination truly is a work of art by someone who understands LEVEL42
mixed by Ben Liebrand.
All the numbers above are for the CDs as available in the u.k. when they were originally released.
